A Little About Me
I wanted to be an engineer or a psychologist.
Luckily I found Human Factors Psychology that blends engineering and psychology. With graduate and undergraduate training in this field, I am passionate about designing products that achieve a business’ goals by meeting the users’ needs in an easy and intuitive manner.
One day we needed shelves.
I grew up around woodworking. So, when my wife and I needed some shelving where the common furniture solutions were not going to fit what we were looking for, I jumped at the opportunity to make some specific to our needs. This is when I started blending the user-centered design approaches I use daily in digital design in the physical world through woodworking.
Ultimately, I like helping people.
Over the two decades I have worked in user-centered design, what I have come to realize is I am most excited about making someone’s life a little better.
This is why I remain passionate about designing digital products around the users. Doing so creates useful products that are easy to use for the customers, and in return, supports a business in being more successful.
Making someone’s life a little better can also be done by creating that piece of furniture that fits what is needed. I feel that people shouldn’t be forced to make some furniture work that simply doesn’t do what they ultimately need. Sometimes that custom shelf is all that is needed to make someone’s life just a little better, and I enjoy being able to help bring that ease.
