Turning User Insights Into Meaningful Products

I apply Human-Centered Design to craft products that make a real impact for the users and the business.

HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN

A human-centered approach places user goals, needs, expectations, capabilities/limitations, and environment at the core of the design. It implements continuous User Research throughout the development process to maintain a user-certered perspective, replacing assumptions and guesswork with user insights.

Over my career, I have had different titles (Usability Analyst, Human Factors Engineer, User Experience Designer, and Creative Director). The constant has been implementing Human-Centered Design (HCD) methods to objectively inform product and service designs. This has allowed me to derive meaningful solutions that help the users and achieved desired objectives.

DEFINITION OF DESIGN
de·sign /dəˈzīn/

A plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or workings of a building, garment, or other object before it is built or made.

FUNCTION AND FORM

Design exists to fulfill a purpose. Without purpose, it becomes art, which can exist without reason.

In successful product design, form (the art) follows function (the purpose), yet form remains a crucial consideration. A well-designed product is not only functional but also delightful to use.

I seek to thoughtfully balance form and function. This is a key component in producing highly adoptable product, ultimately enhancing its impact in achieving desired goals.

SHAKER DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Don’t make something unless it is both necessary and useful; but if it is both necessary and useful, don’t hesitate to make it beautiful.
